CLS 500 Engine warning light

Hello everyone,

My engine warning light came on today. The service light came on 18 days ago, is the engine light trigger likely to be automated (i.e. triggered a certain time after the service light comes on)... or should I assume there is probably a problem of some kind.

The car is not due a service until the end next month, it is serviced by an independent hence the Merc driven "service now" reminder coming up out of line with the genuine service schedule.

Any thoughts welcome.

I have had quite a few Mercedes and had the service reminder on all of them and never had an engine light come on as well. Get the code(s) read to be sure.
