Believe it or not this evening was the first time I've actually taken the car out for a proper drive,
Only 25 mins to the bro in law and 25 mins back, but I'm now beginning to understand why people don't sell unless they have to... I had the roof down in the dark and it still felt amazing!
The wedge really is the best kept classic seceret!!

Great isn't it.. all you need is Matt Monro with 'Days Like These' playing on the radio or...just in your head, for added perfection! smile

Here's to more days and drives like that.

Yeah.. I know.. It had a brake problem, that took me a while to get round to.. Then started on the interior.. Then winter was Sh17! I have to say, and I know it's daft, but because the front end is a bit ropey, I'm not enjoying it as much as I should!
Just cannot justify the full respray at the mo!

Maybe I'll have to stick to night driving! Ha ha

Mine has a well ropey boot lid that looks like someone has spilt a whole pot of filler on it and spread it over most of the boot rather than trying to remove it!..Then there is the scabby lacquer on the rear quarters...And the front end on close inspection looks like its been peppered with a 12 gauge..And i scuffed and cracked the spoiler on a kerb the other day...banghead...BUT ...Im still enjoying every minute of driving it and look forward to driving it every minute...Trust me i used to panic if one hair on my head was out of place..Now i just shave it off...biggrin...

Why does it need a full re-spray?..If the lacquer is knackered like mine then it just needs flattening off and re-lacquering..Not expensive at all....Just get out there and enjoy the car....Ziga

Hey Zig, well it's a bit more than that, there is a few chips of paint missing, and can't get a close touch up,
Plus there areas that have gone cloudy, unless that's just the lacquer as well?
A lot if it is just circles of lacquer to be fair, what would you flat it off with, that wouldn't take the paint off?

yuck...Its horrible....hehe....Only messing mate...The milky stains are water ingress...I had a big patch on Delilah's bonnet and some colour magic got the colour and shine back and then she had the sun beating down on her for a day which warmed it out.

A good paint shop should be able to address the spoiler and front section so it shouldn't need a full respray, I think the colour is Mica Ruby Red...There is a body code on the plate on the N/S wheel arch..That is the paint code.

Its probably made worst because your conscious about it...Bit like a spot on the end of ya nose..(Which i have)...Don't let it put you off of driving it for crying out loud....I tend to look past that as its aesthetic..Also its the last thing on the list...I had silver foil tape on Delilah's front spoiler ..(Traffic island) and some on the window pillar...(Bouncing rock)..For ages...Dont let it put you off mate....Ziga

yikes sod the cosmetics, my 390 has progressively got more and more tatty over the few years I have owned her, mainly because I drive it as much as possible. I will post a pic of my front spoiler (when I bought it it was fine but now has a lot of war wounds frown ). But who cares, when you fire the beast up you forget about the imperfections and trust me my 390 has a lot yikesbiggrin Awesome smile

Well I don't want to take pleasure in others ropey bodywork,
But yeah it's nice to know there are other in it and understand the frustration of things not being perfect.

Cheers guys, especially Zig for taking trouble to post the pics. Bloody solenoid has started sticking again now only replaced it last year!

If you need a sprayer, I know one not far from me (North London) that have done work for me on a couple of previous Wedges. Good price and good job. Does complete resprays for around 1k on a Wedge or sections for much less.
