Nice new upgrades......
Discussion
So other than my car having some nice aesthetic mods...Suspension, wheels and a nice sounding (lightweight) back box...
I had some extras fitted today...
I intend on getting more track use with my car in the future, I am no racing driver so not too fussed as yet for extreme power upgrades, until I can drive that car FLAT OUT I figure 370 -380 BHP is more than enough for a while... But wanted some confidence in Great grip from good tyres & braking most importantly.. I figure this year this will be all I do to the car until I get more and more confident!! And then more power....
200 Cell cats...............

Scrapped the factory air intake in favour of similar used on the GT4 cars

Oh and some nice new brakes all round.... Floating discs and fast road/race callipers & brake fluid upgrade...

Wheels came back from the paint shop last week, lightweight magnesium speedlines, had them painted black, but had my other set of 18" AM wheels done in fluro orange... I liked them so much that I rushed the speedlines back for a colour change to orange.... LOL

Excuse the lack of plants in the background... Puppies have eaten almost every plant!!
Having now slightly worn the brakes in...... I can see that this was money well spent.... They are faultless..... So much so I have just finished scraping my eyeballs off the inside of the windscreen...
Oh and the car sounds like an animal as well.....

Big thanks to the guys today....... Again, well looked after, warm friendly and welcoming environment...

I'm fairly sure BTCC are allowed 115 dB.
Apart from unsilenced Donington days I don't think you will find any track in the UK that will allow more than 105 dB on a track day.
I think its safe to say that the quicksilver back box will need to come off and be replaced with a quieter alternative.... So wheels are in motion for nice set of these.............. A hint more power and a very acceptable 98dbApart from unsilenced Donington days I don't think you will find any track in the UK that will allow more than 105 dB on a track day.
The quicksilver supersport was a great quick bolt on.... Really did sound just amazing... So will be up for sale if any one wants it.....

This is really bloody loud now, wondered what it was coming past my house the other day, till I saw it yesterday and relised what it was!
LOL.... Where was this??? Don't panic, the quicksilver backbox is coming off... Coupled up with those cats it really is loud!!!! In fact as nice as it sounds, on deceleration with its spits and burbles, even I am a tad embarrassed at the noise level...That backbox is fine just on its own... New ones will keep the car below 100db

I live in Easthampsted also, opposite side of the road from the BP on Bagshot Road. So everyday I hear cars/bikes screaming up the dual carriage way.
I would have known it was a V8 Vantage but because it sounds quite different now, it was hard to tell. I thought it could have been something American lol.
Just think it's lost the distinct sound, still made me smile lots though!

LOL.... I do nothing except smile... Booked back in on Thursday for GT4 Back boxes... I hope it still sounds nice, quieter but nice.. Off to racquets in an hour, keep your ears open... Nice little trip back to Appleby engineering today... New GT4 back boxes fitted.... I can now hear myself think when driving... LOL
The car still sounds really awesome though... Plus now with the cats, air filter and those boxes the car felt a bit more lively on acceleration and throughout the rest of the gears too....
db reading is now ell within any limits anywhere...... before they took the QS box off it sat at idle at 106db and at 5000rpm was really loud.... Now at 5000 they are below 98db
Also now looking at trimming a set of Sparco race bucket seats in alacantara and leather, White stitching & AM logos in the head rest area.... That will be an interesting finish.... Good grippy buckets that match the rest of the interior....
My full intention is to have the car half road half track monster... With just a quick wheel swap over....
