The ring of led lights surround the face of the dash don't work on my Tam (they never have since I bought it). Anyone come across this before and can suggest a course of action?

Thanks

Send it to Paul Smith to sort out at PS Solutions.

After working on some projects for me, he knows the most about them biggrin

Plus really nice bloke to work with.

Not working or their brightness tuned down/off?

Go into the pod menu and you can set the brightness for off/side/main lights. Its on the second page of (2) set-up menu under 'dials'

Thanks guys,
I checked settings and it's all at 100%. Oh well... cant really see the dials well at night but I tend to use the digital readout anyway so I'm not that bothered, I guess I'll wait till something more serious happens with the dash before sending bits down to Paul. Dash ecu has made a trip already.

And my pass window just stopped working... really seems like I'm going through every possible gremlin frown will persevere and work through it.
Shep, is this how you seem to know about everything? wink

I did think about sending every module to Paul to upgrade, as I think it is these things that cause the most problems!

I am naturally inquisitive so just take things apart to see how they work and yes, some things have broke. Unless its gona be really expensive (engine) or it could kill me (brakes) if I arse it up, I will have a play with it. I am northern and tight too so won't pay anybody to fix anything I can do with a little research and practice first.

In that case then I would remove the dash pod and check the electrical connectors to the PCB's are secure and whilst its out try a new set of cables between the ECU and clock pack. These will do for £10

One thing is for sure, if you're bored there's always something to do on the car... its kind of fun to do and learn!! well.. not so much fun when you learn via buying the wrong bits smile
Had the pod out the other day, none of the connectors feel very snug/tight. Light pressure is enough to pull/push ALL of them, inc heater knobs etc. Was tempted to use a dab of hotglue... I ordered those cables.

Sorry, I have just spotted a mistake with the link I posted, you need male to female cables not male to male. :roll eyes:

If you are feeling really tight and have a multimeter, you can test your cables by doing a continuity test on each of the pins between the connectors, they are wired straight through pin-to-to-pin. I should have done this before my clock pack made the £100 round trip to Paul to find out it was my cables that was causing the speedo not to work!
