Ford ka immobiliser problem
Discussion
Alright guys, having a bit of bother with my ka's ignition barrel.
The barrel was sticky so squirted some wd40 into it to loosen it up. Unfortunately the end snapped off the straw and after several attempts to get it out I've gave up.
To get the barrel out you put the key in and turn it(which I can't do), press pin on top of barrel and pop it out.
Assuming I can somehow get the barrel out, will I be able to replace it with one from a scrappy, also fitting the immobiliser unit that fits over the barrel and reads the chip, or will the ecu not accept the new immobiliser unit and I'll have to replace that as well?
Cheapest suggestions welcome without bodging it too much!
And I don't need reminded I'm a fanny, the wife's taken care of that.
