Help! Mercedes CLK boot release issue?

Basically the battery died in my 2001 CLK55, after not using for over a month.

So i took the massive battery out of the boot to put on charge, but made the mistake of shutting the boot!

I didn't lock the car doors so i have access to these, as well as the bonnet.

Now i need to get into the boot to refit the battery but i can't



I know my previous BMW had a port under the bonnet for jump starting, but i cannot find anything like this on the merc?

I can't get into the boot from the car, as the release for the seat backs is in the boot!

Anyone got any idea's?

Is there not a key hole for the emergency key above the number plate area?

Yes, but nothing happens when i turn the key, i think the lock required electricity

I did his to help a friend his plan was to pop the seats down, crawled inside with a torch and popped it from inside aswell.

Do you not have to turn the key in the boot left and hold while trying to open the boot.

If not there should be a positive point under the bonnet. Right hand side about mid way. You should be able to apply 12v and the negative ground it and you should be able to use the remote. Don't try to jump the car this way.

The stick, it needs to be turned anti clockwise to the 'ten to' position and then the handle should release the lid.

Lots of lube and fast sharp knocks on the lid above the keyhole can free it up.

Did anyone else read the title and expect to find an urgent post from someone trapped in the boot of a german coupe?

Woop sorted,

Found the + point under the bonnet, i don't have any jump leads to attached my battery charger to this point, the dash then started to flicker on.

Held the boot release for a good minuet and it popped open

Connected the battery and she fired

Im now off for a to probably scare myself a bit, as only driven the 80 BHP transit for the last few months
