Hi All,

I am building a new Motorsport Elise race car and really want to build it with a central seat. Most series regs specifically exclude centrally seated cars so where could I race it? Its going to have a fairly low-powered (sub-200bhp) K series engine and I'm not loaded so Britcar and GT Cup are out. biggrin

Cheers

We have one ( and it's a front runner ) in Lotus Cup Uk but I believe this was built from new like this so not sure if yours would qualify worth a try as its a fantastic championship smile

To be honest, much as I like the idea of Lotus Cup UK I find the entry fees a bit steep for what you get. Not good value for money in my eyes. Perhaps I'm just tight! biggrin

Love the idea of doing two driver mini-endurance races but pretty sure the car wouldn't be eligible for any of the series currently out there. (Team Trophy, Roadsports, Modern Classics, etc.)

Its a shame really as there is pretty much no performance advantage from the centrally mounted seat.

Don't really see why it wouldn't be eligible for Modern Classics, as long as it meets the rest of the (few) regs.

750 Motor Club | Roadsports.
45 Minute races, 2 drivers can share with a mandatory pit-stop.
Silverstone, Donington etc @ only £325 per team/entry

+1 for the 750MC Roadsport series. Excellent racing and a great atmosphere as well.
CSCC Modern classics might be another option

We run a genuine Motorsport Elise in the Lotus Cup, they only allow central seats if it is a genuine motorsport car. Having driven both I would say in a pitstop race you are better off with a normal seating position as the central seat is not easy to get out of!
For Lotus Cup you will need 250-300hp to be competitive. Have a 250hp K-Series engine for sale if you are interested.
