My re-furbed wheels

After months of debating which colour to go for the decision was made a little easier after I fitted a set of new Dectane smoked LED rear light clusters. To match these I opted for a matte anthracite which I think looks fab.

If you like it OP, that's all that matters really - I can't see anything wrong with it myself, perhaps coloured centre caps would "lift" the wheels a touch?

You've just got to love PistonHeads. A place where car loving individuals get together to share their thoughts, experiences and often pictures of their pride and joy........only to be knocked down by others at the first opportunity!

In an effort to be as positive as possible, I'll not mention the wheels.

I however like the Dectane lights. When I had a 997.1 I gave very serious consideration to purchasing a set, the ones that look very much like OEM 997.2 lights. I saw the type pictured above on Dectane's website, but never (ever) thought I'd see a set fitted to a car.

I'm happy for you that you like them.

LOL, cheers JMS, I accept however that both the lights and choice of wheel colour for that matter are "marmite" points, in fact I even used the "marmite" quote when I posted same on 911uk forum. The fact is I am a big boy now so any comments are really water off a ducks back. For every negative post there has been an equally positive one so it really is swings and roundabouts and each to there own so to speak. There will always be the traditionalist who insist on everything being completely standard and there will always be the modernist who like to see their cars maybe brought a little up to date. Although the picture doesn't really show it, the lights are actually smoked so quite subdued really and not at all "blingy" although I accept the picture makes them seem shiny (it was actually sunny over the weekend when I pictured them).

No problem - Would be nice to see a full picture of the car as well.

I'm a big fan of the coloured wheel crests; always a nice touch in my own opinion and would be set off nicely against the darker wheel finish.

Yes, I may get some of the centre caps off Ebay to give a bit of colour, here's a pic of the car but I admit, the light played tricks on this pic.

Whilst I have no opinion either way on the lights or the wheels (if you're happy with them that's all that matters), the wheels do seem a little lost in the arches.

May just be the angle of the picture or the dark colour (not always the issue), but seems an awfully large gap between arch and tyre.

I'd hazard a guess that the op had just refitted the wheels and dropped the car back down when he took that picture. Hence the suspension would need to settle again on the first drive.
If not then Wow, that's high man!

Hate the lights, like the wheels although I'd like them in silver too but I'm all for making a car your own, so you enjoy it OP.
