Cruiser plus track car?

Here's a dilema

I am going to Le Mans Classic this year and driving down there. I want to get a car that is suitable for that trip which is comfortable and quick but also bit of character and slightly classic looks so it will be in keeping with whats going to be there.

But i also want to use it for track days as I attend regularly at Snetterton, Brands and Rockingham

Is there such a car?

An original 937 GT-S is more likely to get an entry than a 1973 2.7l 911 RS at the Classic(!), so Im not sure that itd be my choice. Have you seen their values?

A 924 Carrera GT, on the other hand...

I wish Id bought that two tone green 931 for £1,100 in 2012. Perfect brown dash and green tartan trim, but little oil pressure.

Seems cheap now.

You might want a bucket seat for the track days though.

The boxy styling was a result of designing it for aerodynamic effiency, so these are good for the autoroute.

It sounds to me like you need a decent 924 or 944... I've owned lots of different cars and my most recent fleet edition, a 944 Turbo seems to do everything very well indeed. Have I found my ideal car that I might actually keep for a good while? Quite possibly!

Find one with decent Koni suspension, or even better with KW's and you have the ideal compromise car. I am genuinely impressed with mine and am looking forward to at least one euro road trip this year
