I went to a Car Limits event at North Weald today.
A good bunch of people and the organisers had a laid back attitude which went down well given the Sunny weather.
In the afternoon they set out a course and allowed the cars to race individually against the clock.
There were a lot of TVRs, a 911 a Turbo, a large engined Cobra, a 6.3 Merc and a GTR. About 30 + cars in total.
We all had many tries at a best time and the top 2 by a comfortable margin were the GTR at 59.5 followed by my Chimmy at 60.3 seconds.
These laps involved much drifting through bends and even wheelspin in 3rd!
Much adrenalin and satisfaction at the results!
As a comparison there were a lot of people in the 70s with the guy in the nearly new M3 doing just under 64 seconds after about 20 try's! A good day.

Peter.If they had a laser beam start and finish on that track ,theres a fair chance you could have had that GTR

He did say that the stop watch doesn't stop until the car has stopped! . Its not exactly high tech timing there is it ? Good to see you today .Given the surface, lack of ABS and my over exuberance, I stopped way past the GTR in an entertaining cloud of smoke!
With 6OLDY plate.So as you are timed from when your wheels start turning to when your wheels stop by that reckoning you were quicker than the GTR then Peter. The idea of having you stop is to slow you down before the line. Was it not a box then Peter, you have to stop between the cones!
