HPI. How good is it?

I'm interested in a car that's in southern Spain. Car was bought in Britain and is still on British plates, car is said to be HPI clear but I would pay for a check anyway. I've never HPI'd a car before but this car would be bought unseen, (except for pictures), and I want to proceed with caustion.

I would guess that any HPI done here would not show if the car had been crashed/repaired over there?

Basically if you are paying ANYTHING before you get the car.

Is it incredibly rare? If not buy one from the UK.

Good point.

Car isn't rare its an M class. To be honest Im going off the idea but I may ring HPI and have a chat.
