Dark red Chim broken down on A24 just south of Southwater
Broken down with police for company.
Hope you were ok and the car were ok
Sadly me, just died on me as I left the roundabout. Anywhere else I could probably have fixed at the roadside, but on that stretch of road with no protection it just wasn't safe ( thank you to the audi a5 that was in such a hurry you couldn't slow and miss me by more than 5 inches! , p@@t!), Thanks have to said to the 3 different police cars that stopped to provide protection. You learn a lot about how many idiots are on the road in that sort of situation., and that protection was very much appreciated.Broken down with police for company.

Once recovered was fixed in all of 5 mins ( something had loosened the connection on the fuel pump)
Glad you and the car are ok.
I had the same at the end of last year. Car died, no electrics so no lights on a dark 40mph B road. I knew it was blown 100amp fuse but no way I was going to fix it where I was. A helpful chap on a bicycle stopped to help me push from a very dangerous to a rather dangerous spot while waiting for the RAC. I put warning triangle out but while waiting one car did not see it or the car and narrowly missed me by a couple of inches. Minutes later a teenager in Clio going way too fast saw me at the last minute and lost control avoiding me but ended up sliding sideways towards the t-junction. Only stopped by the keep left lighted box in the middle of the road.
I felt rather relieved to get home.

I appreciate your concern, Yes, I know exactly how you feel to get home, perhaps everyone should breakdown just like that so they can show some respect, and some common sense. I was most bemused at the drivers that saw the police car blocking lane 1 and then once past that immediately pulled back into lane 1 so they drove close by my car! Why? Just why?
I suppose just 2 breakdowns in 18 years isn't too bad......

There's an "off PH" group of 'spirited' TVR owners from the Horsham area who meet up on a regular basis to drive across country to a venue for an early morning breakfast.
It usually kicks off at dawn (yes, literally daybreak) from a well known garden centre car park on a main arterial road leading into/out of Horsham and returns to the same spot sometime after 11am - traffic dependent.
It's not for the sunday driver types though as we like to progress at a goodly pace. If you want to bring a co-pilot then thats fine, nearly all of our WAGS have attended at one point or another although I'd advise against bringing anyone who tends to act as an extra brake.
The group currently consists of approx 25 TVR owners but not all attend. I can't think of any under the age of 30 although most would have you believe otherwise
If you are interested, PM me and I'll give you the date, time and venue of the next meet. Don't worry, we are a friendly bunch with a nice mix of cars and you'll be made welcome.
