Definitely worth reading "Skunkworks" by Ben Rich (who succeeded Kelly Johnson as head of Lockheed's Skunkworks.

Fascinating stuff.... like the story of how Skunkworks used titanium(?) in it's spy planes bought from the Soviets by CIA front companies!
