interesting French cars.

Just moved to France for work and am now looking at what motor to purchase.
Parameters;
Used
Given that all the garages local to me have a reputation for taking MUCH better care of French brand cars than foreign ones I am looking at French brands only.
Budget about 5K, english equivalent- used car prices here are about the same as UK prices in this price band.
Fun to drive.
And thats about it, number of seats/ doors etc are not an issue.

So far am thinking 505 Sri, 405mi16, 21 quadra turbo, 205gti.

Assuming that there would be more on the market in France, you might get an early Citroen C6 for 5k if you want to waft around.

Lovely, but has not run since 2012 still probably not a bad price all in all.

Lovely, but has not run since 2012 still probably not a bad price all in all.

Text says it does really need restoration, and that's taken into account and the best offer will be accepted. If the french don't fettle cars much it could be a steal for someone!

Citroen SM, DS, CX is the one I would go for. if you want modern, c6 would be nice.

I like the 4CV!

Matra mid engine three seaters were almost great, but ultimately killed off by people carriers (literally).

If I had a spare 5000 and the means of going to get it I'd have that like a shot, these are very rare cars fetching 30K plus easily, if in good working order.

The DS he's got in is a beauty. its also not a bad price at 21,000 euros, bit over the OPs budget though
