Previous owners / service history duplicate invoices

Hi all
Has anybody bought with a fully stamped service book with zero supporting invoices and successfully convinced the dealers to print duplicate or copy invoices?
Before I purchased my car I confirmed the stamps with OPC's service desks but they couldn't provide any further assistance, quoting the Data Protection Act.
No intentions of selling now but when that day comes I would prefer to have some previous history in the folder.

If you're putting business the way of the dealer that previously serviced it, they will usually print you duplicate invoices with previous owners details removed. No data protection issues there.
Had dealers do it on a few of my previous cars.
I keep all my receipts, and when I trade it in ask the dealers to pass them onto the new owner, but doubt they ever do.

Yep, on a Merc I bought last year- contacted the previous owner by post and asked for permission on behalf of the dealer to provide the info. Previous owner wrote back confirming ok, docs printed and sent to me by the dealer.

I think this depends on your relationship with the salesman. I bought my Turbo from an OPC and they supplied all the original service invoices, MOTs and original bill of sale that the original owner had passed on to them with the car when part-ex'dHad dealers do it on a few of my previous cars.
