Ford ranger airbag warning light

I replaced a leaking steering box in my ranger truck and in doing so I was forced to disconnect the air bag warning light socket and when I try to reconnect the warning light flashes continually and the horn does not work. I understand this is a common falt with this procedure but even the local ford garage cannot help me. Can anyone help as the MOT is approaching fast .
