Gotta a lump on my Achilles tendon.

Sore to the touch, and a bit stiff first trip down the stairs in the morning, but other than that it doesn't hurt when I walk, run or anything.

Doctor?
Sport Physician?
Massage?
Do nothing?

see how it is in a day or so. Mine developed into arthritis over a number of years and now hurts like hell on a regular basis. Today being one of those days.

worth getting onto sooner rather than later,

Go and see a sports physio or a someone who can do sports massage.
Might not be your Achilles, thought I damaged mine in September but it was a different muscle (down the inside of my shin bone). Sports physio used massage to break up the lump, the lump is scar tissue, then showed me how to do certain stretches. Took 6 weeks in total before I was back running

It's been sore for a while, but the lump has only developed in the last week or so. Don't think a couple of days is going to make much difference.

Did you actually have a lump on your achilles?

The lump may (or may not) be scar tissue. I suffered from achillies tendonitis as waht worked for me was;
Lots of stretching, even when sat at my desk during the day
Foam roller every night for 10 mins on calf and tendon
Gentle excercise (cycling, not running)

Mine would ache after excersise for couple of days then be ok. Few weeks later while running I felt a pain in my leg, 1st thought Achilles. When it was checked it was a different tendon down the side of the Achilles.
No way could I have self diagnosed it!
Pay for a professional to look at it, you might try self treatment, and next time you run you might and tear or snap your Achilles if you get it wrong!
I wasn't allowed to run, bike or swim for 6 weeks till the lump had gone now have to do loads of calf stretches every day to try to make sure it doesn't come back

For anyone who has had achilles tendonitis for months that will not go away whatever you do or try there is an answer and its fantastic.

Google shockwave therapy ,you need three treatments spaced a week apart and can take up to 9 weeks after that to work.
I had both done and it worked brilliantly.

Not cheap mind but then again nor is going to an osteo etc or physio for weeks and getting knowhere.

Ive also just had it done on a biceps tendon which has plagued me for months and thats now sorted as well
