VW Polo year 2000 key

This morning I dropped and kicked my key (accidentally) and it's not now turning off the immobiliser.
I have a spare key but its just the standard one.
The car is stranded and I would like some help please!
Is it a case of the VW people doing it for a bomb or are there better options?
Located about 20 miles west of Peterborough in the UK.
