Cars I've seen lately that made me smile...

Doing deliveries to a garage the other day and came across (not literally, but nearly) a sierra cosworth, lancia delta integrale and a triumph stag getting welding done in the back. The thing that made it truly special was the garage owner spotting my interest and going over the history of each car and what the future holds for them. Really sparked my interest in finding a garage queen to love and polish.

Then today a dreary drive home after work introduced a scabby, battered sorry looking capri getting thrown sideways round a shiny roundabout with a young hot girl(!) at the helm grinning ear to ear. If my window was down I would of high fived her.

Oh and the Morris Minor in traffic driven by an elderly couple was thoroughly enjoyed too.

Parked up outside an office near me last week was a red Audi Quattro, a TVR Chimera and an old 635CSi. Don't know what was going on but the 3 cars all looked immaculate.

There must have been a few batches of faulty red paint in the late 90s, because any car that has turned pink (usually 97 reg onwards) makes me smile.

A Capri 1.6L driven by a chap who I've seen about locally for at least 20yrs with it. It's tidy and he looks the same as he always did, down to the fag in his mouth, just grey hair...

1275 GT driven by a young blonde lady who looked the part in her well together car. Total Life on Mars moment there

Often see a Moggie Minor or two about and they just make me smile and relax

There is an older gent who drives a 105E Anglia around here that is utterly immaculate, like showroom fresh immaculate. I stop and watch him drive past every time I see it. How it has escaped the tin worm god only knows.

I keep seeing a mint white 'D' reg 911 carrera on my drive home. Its stunning and I want it soooo much. I keep telling her indoors to start saving for my 50th, so my prezzie can be an old skool 911!! Her most recent response was "yeah.... Righto"

The last one I remember was an lady in her 60's (at a guess), complete with driving gloves and tweed jacket, exiting a roundabout onto the Stockley bypass near Uxbridge, with a good dab of oppo, in a british racing green TVR Griffith 500, laying a pair of 50m black lines as she went. Absolutely fantastic.

Yes, on Sunday we saw a Lotus Elite 701 1970's twin cam wedge (with one headlight sticking up).
Reminded me of dad collecting us from school in various dodgy Lotus Elite/Éclat that might never start again once switched off - unless a can of easy start was available!
