imodium or let it fall out?
Discussion
I believe i suffered norovirus last night, vomiting and awful diaorhea plus feeling faint and freezing blah blah. Anyone ive improved today but have had to take a days unpaid off work. I want to go back to work tommorow so should i take an imodium to solidify things? Or is that a bad idea because my body is trying to flush the virus out??

Let your body do what in needs to do. It knows best. And to add the old phrase - better out than in!Sorry for the graphics
If it is the Norovirus, i believe you should stay off work for at least 48 hours AFTER it has cleared up.
I understand this is one of the reasons why it spreads so easily.
Another easy way to avoid getting it is basic hygiene, ie wash your hands thoroughly before you eat or stick them in your mouth, and also to wipe down all the surfaces at home constantly with bleach (if you have it or had it), as you can get it again.
Interesting that there does not seem to have been the big reports about it this year, although i'm putting that down to better stories for the news rooms.
Good luck op.
(BTW i am not a doctor...just stuff i have read /heard etc).

1) let it out - only use Imodium if you absolutely have to move away from a loo
2) rehydrate using dioralye (any supermarket or boots stock it) Use flat coke or 1 litre water with 1x teaspoon salt & 1xtablespoon sugar as a last ditch alternative
3) avoid work until 48 hours after last episode of diarrhoea
4) wash your hands really well with soapy water - alcohol gel isn't effective on its own.
