Can anyone help?

A garage (who shall remain nameless) tightened up the locking wheel nuts too tightly and bent the prongs on the key. Tried to use it to remove the wheels and one of the prongs has snapped off. Wishful thinking it would work!

I can't see any other way to get these off other than with the key. The outside of the nut spins.

Can anyone help me today? Either supply another key or get them off for me? I don't want to put them back on. No one would want to steal these wheels!

The car is in Ringwood and is really only safe to drive short distances.

Thanks,

Dan

Not local Dan but if you could get it over we could probably get them off.

I've had that myself, years back: if you can get it to one of the tyre shops (ATS at Carvers for example, or Millstream Motors) they may well have a variety of keys to try. Also The Wheel Specialist in Ferndown might have something. If they can't help, the spinning bit is a thin steel ring, if you can prize that off, you might be able to get a socket jammed on there.

No need to prize the ring off, just hammer a socket straight over it.
I can have a crack at it this evening if you like? I'm in poole.

Got two of them off by hammering on sockets. Replaced front brakes. Now need to get the rear wheels off and replace the rear brakes.

If you don't hammer the socket on too far, you can crack the bolt half a turn and knock the socket off the locker. You can usually use the one socket for all four wheels.
