2500M: Speedwell Steering Wheel
Discussion
Guys, I just bought this steering wheel for no better reason than I just like the look of it. Intended for my 74 2500M.
Only thing is, the centre is just a "cap", not a functioning horn button.
I'm told functioning horn pushes are available for these Speedwell steering wheels.
Are any of you familiar with the type of horn pushed that would suit this wheel? And who might have one?

Here's how I deal with shipments arriving at my house: I rush to get the package and run down to the basement with it, hiding it under my shirt.
Then, the package goes under the ping pong table. Fortunately, neither of us play table tennis.
Am I a man or mouse? (squeak, squeak)
Ron
Not sure, Ron. Please post a picture of the wife! Then, the package goes under the ping pong table. Fortunately, neither of us play table tennis.

How did you get on with the bumpers?
Best,
D.
D, when it comes to car stuff, my wife thinks I'm loopy. Actually, she's very tolerant of my purchases. In return, I don't question her, when she wants a new cappucino maker or a custom-made rug. I doubt it comes out even though. (I get away with plenty)
Now, if we could get something approaching a Spring here, I'd get on with those bumpers. Still got a meter of snow. Ugh!
April can't arrive here soon enough.

Andrew, the picture of the guy rubbing his chin, wearing the cap, looks exactly like me. Other than the fact that I'm about a foot taller, much younger, and more handsome.
And that's all I'm going to say...

Guys, interesting update: I spoke to a fellow in the UK, who specializes in classic Mini parts. He's very familiar with these steering wheels.
Apparently, Mountney bought out Formula/Speedwell, so he believes a Mountney horn push would likely work on this steering wheel and boss.
If he's right, this will be an easy solution.
Here's hoping...

Just taken a Mountney 12inch steering knob not really big enough to call it a steering wheel Apparently, Mountney bought out Formula/Speedwell, so he believes a Mountney horn push would likely work on this steering wheel and boss.

Guys, solved the horn push issue -- bought a Formula sticker/badge from Classic Capsules and attached it to the centre of a Triumph TR4 horn push.
Here 'tis. Looks pretty good, I'm thinking...
