I need a laptop and imo it can only be a Sony Vaio
Idealy 13.3" screen with a stonking memory. The best Sony do is 80gb.
Is it possible to stick a bigger hard drive in a Vaio ? (100gb +)
I know Sony won't do it as it will invalidate your warranty, but is it possible, and any idea's where I should look.

Yes it is possible, and very easy.

I'm typing this on a Sony VAIO that originally had a 20Gb hard drive. Then it got a 40Gb one, and it currently has an 80Gb one.

The 40Gb was then put in an external USB caddy to give me even more storage. I would suggest that you do that with your 80Gb drive when you put the 100Gb drive in.

Ebuyer and Dabs are pretty good places to look for larger 2.5" drives. All of my drives have been purchased through eBuyer.

Thanks Teppic. Can you possibly direct me to a link for these drives on eBay. Just so I know I'm looking at the correct kit.

cheers
