I'm looking at getting a Fiesta ST150 and was just wondering if there is anything I should look out for when im looking at them? Also whats the fuel consumption like on them? Some people say there not so bad and some people slate them.

Cheers

Basically the things to look for are:

Chavvy bits (avoid)
FSH
If the front has no stonechips, its been sprayed. The paint is quite easy to chip so almost all fiestas get it
Check the heated screen works (odd broken lines are fairly common and okay, but if one side works only could be a fuse or a new screen time)
Seat leather is ste, so a bit of wear is expected, but any major wear i would avoid.
Seat tilt handles brake. As do the cables. The former is a cheap easy fix, the latter is a bit more expensive and a right pain.
Exhausts are of rubbish quality, so listen for any blowing/rattle etc from headshields
If it has auto lights/wipers then it will alsi have powerfold mirrors. Check these work properly as they are 150 each to replace.

Most of these have cheap tyres on now, which is not going to help the handling.

Also, (especialy darrnn sarrff) the bodykits are ripe for being nicked, so check everything lines up correctly and hasnt been bodged back on

MPG wise they will do low 30's normal driving (a bit more if careful) but plummets quickly if you give it some

Listen for a screeching PAS pump at slow cornering. These have a terrible design where the PAS fluid is effectively pumped through a kettle so it'll turn black, boil, and piss out the top of the reservoir. Unfortunately if the fluid hasn't been flushed routinely then it can bugger the pump, it would be worth investing in a cooling kit to prevent this from happening.

Also look for the gearbox going stiff when warm. This is a very cheap and easy fix to do, it''s a £7 bush from Ford and about half an hour to replace.

Got rid of mine for this reason.

Woke up one morning to find my front bumper, roof spoiler and jacking covers all stolen. Unless you've got a garage, I wouldn't buy one purely for that reason.
