500sl rear box

Has anyone replaced the standard rear exhaust box on a 500sl for a sporty one, twin pipes etc?

Are they any good? do they sound better?

Any advice appreciated

No need to replace it just take it out , save your tips and have a piece of pipe fabbed with your old tips on. Your car will now sound very nice. This has been done on my sl 55.

Mine has the large rear box with a single oval pipe coming off it, the one I'm looking at has a regular size back box with twin round pipes, it still has to be fabricated on, but apparently they sound quite nice! and add a couple of horses?

You are swapping a silencer for a silencer?delete it and you can still fave your twin pipes if you wish!
