Where to get plates made up?

Just received my registration cert through today from the DVLA, but I'm at a bit of a loss of where to get them done. There seems to be alot of places on the web that seem to make illegal plates, and I don't want to buy a set only to find out they're fit for the bin.

I want to be fully legal obviously, so no silly spacing or small letters.

My new plate is 6 characters so ideally I would like a plate a little shorter than standard while still being legal.

If I could get SCO on the side with a border around that would be great.

I usually buy plates on eBay - always legal and decent quality - cheaper for a pair than it costs in Halfords for one!

I would, but don't they only sell full length? And won't they put HALFORDS across the bottom?

Halfords probably do only sell full length plates (IMO short plates look worse than a full size one) but the branding is very discreet.

Also very expensive.

Myshowplates do smaller plates and will legally space as appropriate.

I used www.platesforcars.co.uk when my original plates started to delaminate. They were decent value and delivery was very quick.
