Just ordered from Andrew Page a Land Rover reconditioned Bosch starter motor for my 500, £98. Technician says it has 1.7Kw of turning force (grunt) Ref no 098601 7440 My old Bosch motor, Land Rover, has a dead solenoid. It's ref no: 000110 9040. Is 1.7Kw plenty to start our engines. Thanks.

Have been considering this one (2kw) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-CHIMAERA-GRIFFITH-RE...

I only fitted yesterday one of these from Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-CHIMAERA-GRIFFITH-RE... its a 2kw starter and is clearly a faster turn over than my original one (possibly the original TVR fitted item) I shopped around and this one seemed good value, works a treat so far.

Yes. Wow wee ! What a quiet fast spinner this 2kw is. Job done. Thanks for putting me in touch with London & Essex Auto Electrics ltd. I recon car will do 5mph in 1st on starter alone.
