Mine had to be the original Audi Quattro. Early RHD car. Metallic Black. Full tan leather. Blue/green fully digital instruments.

You could definitely tell when the turbo came in! I remember it leaving a Porsche 944 for dust. Loved it.

My dad's mate had a early Lotus Eclat in metallic purple with cream leather ( it was the mid 70's) I thought it was the coolest thing ever

I went in a Vanquish when Die Another Day came out; I felt like I was bond (only 10 at the time)!

I also when in a 355 in the early 2000's - but I thought it was rubbish as it was the old Ferrari and not the newer 360.

Funny enough, the 355 is now one of my all time favourites!

Friend of a neighbour took me out in his Morgan +8 - he also had a V8 Disco - my Dad had a 4/4 at the time which was nice but this thing was a hoot

These days we'd probably have got stopped after someone reported a young person getting into a car with an overweight middle aged bloke

Car was amazing, and looking back his driving was very good as well

Sadly the guy died of a very rare cancer a few years ago

Uncle had a Mk1 XR2 in 82, I loved going in it. Plus he had a Tom Selleck style tash at the time, which made him and the car even cooler.

My mate's Dad had an SD1 3500 V8 that I thought was much cooler than my Dad's Nissan Cherry 1.3 GS

996 911 Turbo. I was about 8/9 at the time and had never been in a sports car, let alone a Porsche before!

The lady driving it was my Dad's boss, and she drove the car pretty hard (in a good way - especially fun as I'd never experienced 'enthusiastic' driving at that point). I was a very quiet/ shy child at that age, but when I finally plucked up the courage to ask how fast we were going the reply was 'only 90', and then she accelerated more! biggrin

And I've been a Porsche enthusiast since!

Second to this would be a 1958 Ferrari 250 Tour de France. Incredible car and a very down to earth owner who even let me start the car! The attention the car received on the road has been unlike any other I've been in! biggrin

Wierdly my aunties MG Metro - think it was the early 80s and I was 4 or 5! Remember going over a hump back before and allegedly getting air! Ever since I was obsessed with these cars - so 15 or so years later I bought one as my first car - and quickly realised it was not quite as good as I remembered!!

Being taken around Goodwood in a Lotus Elan during the lunch break at a London Car Club sprint. I was in the St John Ambulance attending the circuit and obviously being a petrolhead showed a lot of interest in the cars. One of the officials kindly offered to take me out on the track.
Did my first Sprint at Goodwood aged 21 so achieved what I said I would do that day.

A mate's Dad used to very occasionally get to look after his boss' Sierra Cosworth for the weekend (the whale tale version, not Sapphire) in Grey.

It was a thing to behold and felt so bloody quick. We're talking probably 1989 or thereabouts, so it was probably not that old (were they from a D reg/86' onwards?)

I have three coolest cars from way back

130 MPH in my mates dads E Type Jaguar - two boys sharing the front seat and three more squeezed in the back.
Another mates dads Lotus Cortina - driven in the manner intended by a Ford test driver.
Yet another mates dads 3.8 Mk 2 Jaguar racing through London late at night on the way back to school.

And my dad always bought nothing but bloody Volvos... paperbag

Dad came home with this, and actually taught me to drive over the Cardrome in Hornchurch in it when i was 12. Got a soft spot for them. Same colour too.

One of our neighbours when I was little was in the USAF, and not long before he was posted back to the US he ordered a left hand drive Triumph TR6. In magenta with black interior. He drove me to school in it when it arrived and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

But then my parents' friends arrived in their brand new Citroen DS Safari and we all agreed that was the coolest thing ever.
