Golf gti mk5 Mileage correction

Looking at buying a mk5 gti. Im just being very cautious when it comes to buying. How easy is it to clock these cars. I have seen a few early examples which are extremely low mileage.

Also if I ring VW and they say they have record for 3 service stamps, but the seller says theres 6 does this mean the sellers is telling porkies or could It have been on private plates when the service was done?

Easy to adjust mileage on most cars

Go on vosa site and check mileages at previous mot time and make sure that is correct
