Serious Electrical Problems Help!!
Discussion
I have managed to get the fog lights working, by changing some writing and added in a relay into the circuit. The steering wheel buttons I thought it might be the ribbon. But it seems ok. The steering control unit seems ok I have just got to test the circuit board that goes between the steering wheel buttons and the control unit. Does anyone know how to change the hazard switch? As the button on the indicator stick does not seem to work.
The electrical solenoid won't activate, but when I go to the box output I put 12v to the door solenoid and it works, so think it's the door control box. Steering wheel buttons big fuse? Do you know how to dismantle the indicator stalk so I can see if the end switch for the hazard lights is working or not?
Indicators stalk just screws off slacking the locking nuts off but unplug it first as the wire will get damaged plugs into the circuit board between the control box and steering wheel it's easier to remove the steering wheel is your better access with the wheel off you can check the wires connecting the buttons and steering ribbon at the same time but be careful on top of the steering column is made out of the world's softest metal and breaks easily
The big fuse is located at the back of the engine in a little black box that if yours is a v8 and can cause major headaches with the electric's

Thanks for your help, I didn't have to dismantle the indicator stalk n the end as I found the hazard connector block going to the indicator pcb one of the connectors was damaged so fixed the connector and now the hazards work. Just got the last fault of finding out why the steering wheel buttons don't work, the main fuse is good thanks.

The big fuse is only in the charging circuit directly between the alternator and battery. It affects nothing else. The only issue that it can cause is the battery not charging and transient spikes that make the rev counter bounce while the engine is running. Obviously a low battery can cause various problems the but the big fuse is not to blame directly.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
