Audi Sport Quattro: Pic Of The Week

PH has just driven this very car; how better to celebrate than with a POTW!

We love a tenuous excuse for driving an iconic car. So too, it seems, does Audi. It's launching a car called the S1 whose only tenuous link to the last Audi to bear the name is that it has four-wheel drive and four rings on the nose. According to Matt, who's just on his way home from the launch event, this was all the justification Audi needed to get out some Sport Quattros (rally and road versions) from its collection and let people have a go with them. The rally cars were enjoyed from the passenger seat but Matt apparently got a quick go with the roadgoing one seen in this lovely image here.

Lucky man. You can read about his experiences next week and likewise those with the new S1, which is apparently a feisty little thing.

I remember a guy in the 90's who used to sprint an ex Group B Sport Quattro ( ex Scandinavian car) at Curborough Sprint track and towed it there with his road going Sport Quattro !!
