Thanks to Jackal on here, I've ditched the B&M short shifter my 6.1 GT3 came with this morning and fitted the 997 unit.
Difference is unbelievable, I can finally rev match again and shift gears with one hand !

Why anybody would fit the B&M to a GT3 and think it's an improvement is beyond me.

Will look into the Manthey item Slippy, at the minute I'm just happy to have something that doesn't shift like a hire car without using the clutch anymore !

Good to hear Mike. It's near the top of my to do list.
My car has a Schell item fitted. Crap when cold, ok when hot but I know it could be so much better.

I take it yours is the 997 GT3 shifter with the metal bushings? About £300 from OPC.
I've seen a few used ones pop up but they go for almost as much a new one. I'll get one eventually. To be honest apart from the shifter my box is mint, no crunches, whines or anything. Which is nice to know given the criticism the mk1 box internals sometimes get. Brass syncros aren't meant to last long but like I say no issues at all with mine on 62k miles.

Mines nearly at 67K now Mark, no issues either.

This is a standard 7.1 Shifter rather than the 7.2 with metal bushings.
