I'm looking for something I can paint over and not see. All I've found so far is QED ultra flat at nearly £3 a m which seems a lot.
What else might be out there?

How much do you want re distance. Atlas make some flat audio cables at £4.50 per m. Wireworld make some flat cables at £3.25 per m. Pop over to the Futureshop.co.uk cable shop and have a browse.

It will be on flat wall. I can use the expansion space between the new floor and the wall for some of it but then there will be at least a 2 or 3m run up the wall. I'd like this to be as invisible as possible without chiseling the wall.

I bought some Taperwire a little while ago (Google : Taperwire 4 Conductor 18 AWG Flat Copper Wire). Works perfectly for rear surround channels.

You can paint over it, but nothing is going to be invisible and I suspect something that nearly is will probably look more odd than something "contrasting".

(I bought mine from www.svideo.com - just looked and they don't seem to have it listed on their website).

I think doing it neatly is the most important aspect of it.
Ensue cables are straight, level and pinned back at equal distances and it'll look fine.

Maplins do some flat flex profi gold but it's still quite expensive at around £2.30 per metre, used some under my carpets for surround speakers
