Dent on front of bonnet (some one sat on it?), PDR repair, but when sun is low in sky you can see the line of a stiffening bar and some general rippling in the area. The Bonnet is Aluminium if that makes a difference?
Had the guy back, best he can achieve?

In fairness, with no sun or direct sunlight it looks good, not perfect, but passable, its the low sun which highlights it?

Are there better people out there that could sort this? or is this a typical outcome? I'm in Cambridge/Peterborough area..

Aluminium is very unforgiving when stretched, when you say the area has a strengthening bar behind, im quite surprised he even bothered. To be fair to the guy he's probably done about as much as can be done, if you call another dent man and tell them I've had this dent repaired and im not happy with it, chances are hes going to give it a body swerve anyway.
Suppose you could look at it this way, 95% of the time your going to be happy with it, lets face it how often do we get sun never mind direct sunshine lol. But you've also saved yourself a good couple of hundred pounds on a respray, possibly more depending on make/colour etc.

^ Couldn't have put it better myself. A decent PDR guy will do what they can, and by the sounds of it they have. They don't promise to be able to remove all dents 100%, it's not always possible!
