Roof re trim tips pls

Hi all, I have re-trimmed my roof using bas international material, I looks pretty good I think but I was thinking of trying to tighten the rear window and wondered if careful use of a heat gun or hair dryer to shrink it a little it lim happy?

Is this the way to do it?

Won't heat have the opposite effect, if anything?

Not sure, I saw a guy on YouTube heating his as he fitted it but he had 3 pairs of hands I didn't
