I think that the bearing is on the way out on mine. Looking on eBay, you can buy a separate bearing for the diesel land rover but cant find the same for the rv8. Has anyone changed the bearing or should I just buy the complete new part?

Thanks in advance

Remove the bearing, get the number off it and take it to your nearest bearing supplier It'll be an off the shelf item.

same boat as you. although bearing is fine as l am making all new aluminum pullies and wanted to change bearing whilst at it. The number didn't match up to anything close on internet search. so put the best one closest match online. could order. lt started squeeking and threw it's grease within 20 miles from heat soak. !!! l will be going into my local landrover place or bearing place to get sorted .

The bearing is an integral part of the idler wheel (molded in-cased) so unless your handy with a die grinder and some Loctite just buy a new tensioner assy Graham wink the JE bracket just tidies up the engine allowing a shorter belt run biggrinhttp://www.v8tuner.co.uk/product.php?id=744

£36-£39 + vat, 1/2 hour (3/4 hour if you are slow like me) in the garage, sorted.
It can not be worth the trouble to locate and change bearings.
TVR Power, Racing Green, Racetech Direct, V8 Tuner all have them.

definitely buying one. I just searched and this was the first thing that popped-up. Looks a more repair friendly part! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktC1Cd0zWXc&fea...

Hi Simon,
our looks like a disposable part! Have you put the JE bracket on yours or your brothers car?
