I havent got the t5 borg warner box, i got some sucky crappy gearbox that won't let me use 5th gear...

Can i buy a borg warner and just stick it straight on?? That is what I need to know

I was looking at early cars with the LT77 and thinking I could just change over to a T5, but I was reading up on it and it seems that the T5 is requires different mounting points on the chassis compared to the old box. Making it a bit more involved. Dont know if its been done.

Get the 77 repaired its cheaper nothing wrong with those boxes
