I got clipped by someone's wing mirror today.

Some piece of st driving a brown fking wky stty fking MPV thing got so close to me earlier that his wing mirror clipped my elbow. How the hell I stayed upright is a mystery. It was on the Avenue in Southampton at its junction with Burgess road at about mid day today. I got the cock suckers number plate. I was deeply unimpressed there was no fking need to get so close. fking donkey fker.

I had some numpty in a RRS come past me on a country road without even crossing the white line today. How I wasn't hit with the mirror is beyond me. Didn't get the plate though.

Pleasant century just north of London today, drivers on the whole well behaved - apart from very single one of them near Essenden, who were all either pissed or incompetent.

I don't wish to sound flippant but get used to it! I was clipped twice this week, and once last week - part and parcel of living in the Thames Valley where the roads are congested, everyone drives a 4x4 and is in one hell of a rush! I report malicious behavior but these days the rides that stick in my mind are the ones where I don't get clipped, cut-up, have some knob jangler overtake then turn left, squeeze me out on the run up to a red light etc etc etc etc.......

More miles you do the worse it gets! I have reported a few issues to the bib and unless it is malicious there is little they seem to be able to do about it..........

Ultimately, there's nothing wrong with reporting it. In the first instance, try the Police. Leaving the scene of a collision is a crime. On the other hand, they may well not be interested. Hampshire Police weren't when I had my mirror broken by a nutter in another car in Portsmouth, despite me chasing him down on foot. If you report it to his insurance company, they will contact him to ask about the allegation. At that point it's likely he'll lie to them, but there will be some record of it on his insurance file. It may cost him financially at renewal, and it certainly might make him think in future. Either way, you have nothing to lose but a few minutes making the report.

It was right under the CCTV camera at the junction. I've reported it and got a reference number.

I agree it should be reported.

But forget about insurance or any police intervention. It's only leaving the scene of an accident if there is damage/injury.
