which estate?

hi guys, im looking for some ideas on an estate car, bored of diesels so im looking for a quick but doesnt have to be super quick estate all i want is some nice spec like good stereo leather etc....up to now ive considered volvo v50 t5 audi {various} bmw.....can anyone throw some more ideas at me? looking between 4-8000....thanks very much in advance....

I just bought a honda accord estate, 2.0 petrol, it's not very fast but it's a really nice smooth drive, heated leather, nav, ac, pro sounds with sub in boot, nice car.

Saab 9-5 Aero Estate. Comfy, rapid and very well equiped! Proper Q car.
Massive load space too. I get all my stuff and 3 dogs in mine.
Its also fun when I'm on my own in it, leaving 'most' cars for dead!

Top end of your budget, but it would be my choice.

Massively impressed with my E91 330i. MSport so far. Auto, loaded spec, 260bhp and rock solid build. Ace cruiser but can't half shift when you want it to. Top end of your budget though...

Ditto. Mines a 2.4, fully loaded. Lovely bit of kit, quiet, comfy. Not fast and don't handle brilliantly but it'll rumble on for ever I feel

The honda was not even on the radar when looking for an estate car, baby on the way, looked at various manufactures, had some test drives, would have been a 5 series but my wife is only 5 foot tall so can't reach the pedals properly lol.

Then this honda popped up locally on auto trader so I went for a look, very surprised, the amount of kit you get for your money is unbelievable, even has an electric opening and closing tale gate which is pretty cool.

Massive boot, low boot floor for easy access, comfy, quiet and economical too, 40mpg on the motorway and about 30 round town so far, see how that goes only had it 2 weeks.

It ticks all the boxes, brilliant car, one of the better looking estates, highly recommended.

I know it's not everything but what mpg do you get?

thanks, like the sound of all of the above,fuel economy isnt an issue im in a van sunday night to friday night, i will have to have a good look through the above, do like the s4 tbh seen a few around 5000.....looked at a few m3s too its just i have a dog whos favourite game is rolling in mud etc....like subarus a lot, only thing that puts me off an impreza wagon is the worst stereo system since my first ever sherpa van....lol....thanks for the help

I had the same requirements, 2.5k budgey though so ended up V70 D5 route, 200k miles and counting....

had I had more budget though i would have gone Subaru spec b or post 2005 E320cdi, drove the latter and loved the waftiness of it for more driver appeal then the Subaru and pay a shop £400 to change the stereo & speakers
