V5 new keeper question and car tax

Hi,

Just bought a car that has tax on it until the end of the month and have full v5 document (minus the yellow trader part).

I presume I just send the front sheet that has section 6 in it?

I keep section 10 and take that to the post office? Can I go and get 12 months now or will I loose a month?

Also section 8 is signature part it says both registered keeper and new keeper must sign the form. My trader seller gave me it blank.....

He should send it away not you all you should get is the green slip for taxing it while the log book is being changed. Unless it's different with trade sales cant see that myself.

After abit of googling it seems the dvla don't care too much about the other signiture. Anybody else found this?

Dvla dont check the signatures so just putca squiggle in the new and old keeper signature bits and send it off.

In a week or so go and tax it from April using the new keeper bit at the post office.
