Nasty MX5 crash on Horseshoe Pass

Nasty looking crash on Horseshoe Pass today. A MX5 appears to have rolled, with the driver being airlifted with head injuries. Hopefully no one on here, and equally hopefully a swift recovery.

Looking at where the accident happened and the dirt on the road ahead Id say they came round the tight bend and lost it doing a 180 then down the bank.

Hope everyone's okay, I have a friend with a white MX5. Must check he's okay.

Erk - terrifying how easily a nice Sunday drive blat, could turn into an awful situation like that. Hope whoever they are they had a lucky escape.

Looks to have stood up to it fairly well, assuming it's rolled.

Doesn't look like it's been rolled imo (but I'm far from knowledgeable on these things!). Seats / windscreen are in too good a shape.

I think you're right looking at today's pictures. Looks like he span down the bank, an absolute miracle. Lucky both not to roll and also to avoid the trees.

A great driving road nevertheless. Hope the owner gets out there again.

So passenger side went through the wall, probably the driver head-butted a flying stone? Ouch. No roll bar is going to stop that one. Quite probably, even a roof wouldn't, if it went through the window. Nothing short of a helmet'd do.
