What's the best/preferred OBD2 Reader/App?

Tourque pro thingy on android for me

Torque pro on Android (iFruit has a limited selection) and a cheap ebay bluetooth reader.

+ you can probably guess which app by now

Works flawlessly in my SAAB and several other mates cars I've tried it in - can see and reset ECU errors etc.

Pair the bluetooth first.
Launch Torque Pro
Play.
The only issue I had is that sometimes (not always) Torque wouldn't find the reader. To fix this, I went into Torque settings - OBD2 Adapter Settings- and tick 'disable ELM327 auto timing'...which fixed it.

This one is supposed to be fairly decent i think.

No, as the device (any cheap bluetooth/wireless reader) will not be authorized by apple, so it will not work. (i think there maybe and expensive option?)

You need torquepro as I think others may have mentioned.

(or a cable from ebay that comes with 'loads of programs on a supplied cd')

So I need to find myself an Android thing? Will it work on a tablet with a JellyBean on?

Are you sure? That sounds ridiculous (even by Apple standards). ..what's the point in having bluetooth if this is the case?

Yes, if it has Bluetooth. I have Torque Pro on my Android phone and my Android Nexus tablet.

I'm told that it involves more than just jailbreaking; serious hacking is necessary to make it understand a serial-port bluetooth connection. I am however, just the messenger...

Simple way is just to get a WiFi OBD reader if connection to iPhone is needed.
