Hi All, is the Eastern Circuit now in use at Blyton Park for all trackdays?

I'm booked with Javelin on the 1st April, and just curious as to what circuit I'll be driving.

It's only the Eastern circuit if it clearly states that it is, otherwise Blyton Park is always the original circuit. They are two very different layouts and running the new one changes the nature of the day so it's not a matter of simply swapping between them depending on which one you fancy.

I'm aware of that, hence me asking which circuit layout will be used on the day.

All of the Javelin listings for Blyton in the immediate future list "full circuit". The wording on the Blyton website suggests that the Eastern Circuit is the "new" circuit, replacing the old one full time.

"Consequently I am hopeful that the Eastern Circuit, as it will be called, will be operational in March and I am reliably informed by Colin Jebson that Javelin will be running the first ever track day on it !!!!"

I'm just looking for clarification on that.

Javelin ran a day on the eastern circuit on sunday (16th) It was listed as a 'no beginners day'
All their other listings are for the older/standard layout.
So I'm assuming they wanted to see how well it ran.
I'm going there this weds, so I'll ask what their plans are for further days using the eastern layout.

Cheers mate, appreciate that. I considered ringing in... then realised I'm really not that bothered, just curious biggrin

Curva Grande looks hard, I'm still learning how to brake in a straight line!

Unfortunately the Javelin day on the 16th was cancelled.
The first use of this circuit will be, if they chose to use it, on the RX-8 OC day this Saturday, (Mazda on Track) however we (Performance Trackdays) will definitely be running on the Sunday, making it the first opportunity on a track day to give it a go,
Looks exciting.

Oh, and Richard's own description

To talk you through it: from the start anti-clockwise, you accelerate hard down a familiar straight, but at the bottom you need to brake harder to turn through “Chapmans “ (I am a Lotus owner!!) “ K7” is tight and will need 2nd gear before accelerating hard through “Trubshaws” in third. I think “Curva Grande” is a real challenge as the car gets very loaded up and the corner is a tightening radius without any very obvious reference points. Just when you think you may be in the right place, “The Wiggler” is upon you and with the car heading to the right, you need to turn sharp left. At last, you get a bit of a rest on the familiar drag up to “Bishops” followed by the delights of “Bunga-Bunga”. But then the familiarity stops as you stay on the power through “Port Vite” with a very hefty shove on the anchors required for “Ushers 2”. It’s almost a relief that “Twickers” is the same ……but you are now on another lap and “Curva Grande” is only half a mile away.

First today. Epic new layout, really enhances the existing circuit.
Great fun!

Will all future days now run the Eastern Circuit, ie is the old one retired - or will they alternate?

No, the original circuit is not retired at all. The use of which circuit is very much down to what event and plans for the day.
