Had a whirl on one in tenerife, muchos fun. Was a bit choppy but that just meant some rather alarming air time on some occasions.

Whats the rule of rocking up at a lake with a jet ski? Im assuming its not allowed?

Ever since watching Eastbound & Down I cant help relating Jetskis to Kenny Powers. However saying that they are a cheap way of going very very fast on the water.

I have a couple of jet boats. Basically the same, but you don't get anywhere near as wet.

The harbour where I live are very strict on jet skis due to a minority ruining it for the rest I understand. Some of the restrictions are a little OTT for instance they are not allowed to stop on any beach within the harbour unlike us boat owners who can plonk our fiberglass where we please within reasone.
The noise is irritating mind. They sound like tuned up petrol mowers being constantly revved through the range. And with some of the better riders playing in the surf this will bring them closer to shore making the noise worse. Then you get the plonkers who don't want to go further out as they will have no one to show of to.
The most unbelievable jet ski rider I ever saw thought it would be fun to keep jumping on our wake one very calm day at the time we were testing a race boat on tight turns he looked confused when I politely asked him to fk off.
Any way I digress because personnel watercraft are considered high risk you will find that most harbours/lakes will have an age limit, they will want to see evidence that you have compleated the PWC proficiency course and have valid 3rd party insurance.
I on the other hand could turn up with a bath tub with a 300hp outboard strapped to the back, plonk 12 year old mash junior in the boat and tell him to make sure he is back before tea.

Get a boat you stay dry and you can get up to naughty business with members of the opposite sex when the mood takes you much more fun.

Been on quite a few, great fun. Its amazing how quickly land dissapears when your at sea on one. Its amazing how far you fly when you come off one at full tilt. Not something I'd want to do again.
