The cluster already has horizontal lines in it across the reverse light so just follow them smile

If in doubt, use another strip between the lines to ensure its parallel and then remove the 'spacer' tape. In practise its easy to do by eye without looking out of place.

Water hasn't harmed mine, just use a bit of heat where there are raised mouldings in the lights ('ford' etc) or sand them off.

Thanks

Matt

I liked the look much more than spraying the lot.

I think I put about 4 layers on, if your worried about the MOT you can always use less.

I took mine out, masked off all the red but left exposed a small 'rim' if you will surrounding the light, I also masked off the reverse light.

I'll get a pic late but think mine looks pretty good and still has some functionality when reversing too!

Captain JPs look great, exactly how i'd like to do mine but am fearful of getting it wrong and there's no going back.

Do they pass MOTs?

Half tint looks great i think.

That would depend on what type of tint you used in the first place, however if you can remove it, it will fall off in service.

It's probably cheaper and easier to just buy a 2nd hand pair of lights than mess around trying to remove the tint if you cock it up.

I have two sets of rear lights spare if needed. One set has tinting stripe on.

Thanks

Mine is easy to remove (i used the halfords spray) and has lasted 3 years and lots and lots of miles without falling off in service smile

not a great pic but shows the lights... I did mine the same as the captain but slightly darker.... only takes 30mins and Ive done a couple of sets now (as I have 2 rear clams)

I think it looks much nicer than the standard ones.

It was easy to do, take your time putting the masking tape on, put the can of spray in warm water before and your find it flows better.

If you mess and put too much up it will run so have some kitchen roll to hand and some white sprit and start again.

Good luck smile
