Could be worth asking some questions though and if genuine someone is going to get a bargain, unless the chassis is rotten, the cam is badly worn and mice have been at the electrics.

Being a 12 year fleabay veteran, I'd say it's the genuine ad. The gumtree ad seems a scam to get at least deposit money out of a victim and then failing to deliver the car.

It is possible as i did exactly the same.

I was running a V8s at the time 1999-2002 and cutting along story short decided to sell up and after spending 1 yr in different parts of Europe left on a one way ticket Jan 2002 to Asia. The only thing i never sold was the TVR leaving it in my parents garage.
At the end of 2002 I phoned my Brother who knows nothing about cars and said I'm not coming back so can he sell the V8s for me.

To the person that bought it i'm sure would of had some thought's just like your having. But it was a 100% genuine sale owned by a TVR fanatic,but being sold by my Brother who would't of even known what engine it had.

Getting confused here. 1993 car, yet has been on a V plate? Would have to be late 99 to be on that plate. Mine,on a very very similar plate, was first registered in Nov 99. Are you sure they are the same car?

I would say he is trying to get a valuation of his own car looking at profile,and ste himself when seeing 4k for a 99. Just like I did
