RE: Cholmondeley Pageant of Power theme announced

The 2014 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (we'll go with CPoP from now on, Cholmondeley takes some typing) with celebrate all things Italian this June. Maserati will take centre stage as it celebrates 100 years, but expect plenty of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Lancias and Fiats too.
Fingers crossed for sunshine in 2014!Keep a look out for the Ferrari 212 Monoposto seen in the lead image, a hugely rare F1 racer that raced during the 50s. For now the list of confirmed cars is rather sparse and includes an Iso Rivolta GT and Osella Abarth. Expect more esoteric Italian metal to be added to that list imminently.

As always there will be more than just cars to keep the crowds entertained. CPoP event director James Hall has said "2014 is set to be even bigger and better with all the big names plus our usual exciting array of rally rides, superbikes, powerboats and all kinds of daredevil aerial sports and displays".
This year's CPoP runs from June 13-June 15. Tickets are on sale now from the CPoP website or Ticketmaster. If you're quick (well, before April 30), child tickets are free as well.

I thought it was utter rubbish, I wouldnt go if I were you lot.
Actually, was epic, just dont want it ruining by the massed hordes, pretty sure will be going again, getting utterly battered by 8 pm, deciding to have a little nap before going for a proper drink and then waking up at 3 am

I tweet the same question direct to the organisers occasionally - they never respondI went to CPoP last year after Le Mans was put back a week and really enjoyed it. Sadly, as LM24 is a permanent fixture in my diary, I may never go to CPoP again. They must lose 100s and more likely 1,000s of visitors to Le Mans
That Ferrari grand prix car is beautiful! 
I feel the front engine era of open wheel racing had the best looking cars, particularly for Indy cars (Ferrari actually used to run at Indy, back when winning the 500 gave championship points).I know what you guy's mean about it running over LM24 weekend, however this year I would'nt be able to LM24 due to hillclimb meeting on the Sunday, which means i can go to CPoP on the Saturday, so when you think it's a great alternative for those of us that can't commit the whole weekend to heading over to France then it's great because we don't sit at home thinking we are missing out! I'll just contradict myself now though and say it should be 2 weeks clear of LM24, as they would gain visitors for certain.
The date was moved forward a couple of years ago to try to improve the chances of getting decent weather - it used to run in July; unfortunately it didn't help much. I guess the idea is that it's not necessarily the same audience, maybe they would avoid the Le Mans Classic more carefully.
Went last for the first time. Was a good day and both me and other half really enjoyed it. You can stand 2 foot away from start line as all sorts of exotica launches off the line.
Pretty relaxed atmosphere all round. And plenty of good food and booze to keep you going. We'll be there again this and taking dad as it's father's day weekend as well. Oh and to the person asking about traffic. It was fine on the sat when we went. No hold ups

I've been to every one bar the very first. Every single year without fail, be it before or after the date change, it has utterly belted down for a good portion of the weekend. I always feel so sorry for the organisers, they must be the unluckiest event in history. It's frustrating for spectators too, as bad weather means the real crowd pullers - such as the BRM V16, GP Auto Unions, F5000 cars etc - stay in the paddock rather than doing their runs

Can anyone comment on the parking situation there, I have heard one of the fields is a bit bumpy? I remember at Goodwood they just had a lumpy field and by the end of the day all sorts of exotica were covered in dust.
May just end up taking the Fiesta...

I've only parked in the public car park twice - on the first year as a visitor, and a few years back when the club display areas were waterlogged. I can't say I remember a particular problem with bumpy fields. It always seems to me that anything special is herded to certain areas of the car parks, not just left in the normal areas.
