Which is the best £20k purchase - 7 Series or A4 All Road?

2009 - Audi A4 All Road, 3.0 TDI S-Tronic - 49k Miles
Full Audi Service History - Very Big Spec

I'd say the A4 will hold its money better

I was referring more to residuals in 3 years time on 10k miles per year !

I'm looking for a large car that is very comfortable, big boot, good on motorways/long distances, have a baby in the back and all it's crap in the boot.

7-series tend to plummet in value, either because people in the market for them can afford to get a newer model or because no one in their right mind would touch a post-E39-era BMW in the used market.

Really? Not reliable. I've had a few BMW's but never got further than about 30k miles in one before selling it yet. Although they are the smaller cars, not a 7 series.
