ADAC Renewal?

Shall i bother? The renewal has come through all in german totalling 89.50 for me and 25 euros for her.

I had this for my italy trip last year for myself and gf on the single car, fro what i remember...
Its the ADAC plus membership.

Does that cover all cars for both of us, in this case 3?

Surely cheaper AA or RAC?

How odd. Mine came through last week for €70 for me and €20 for her... (fourth year of membership, one call-out last year)

It's personal cover for you both, so either of you in any cars you happen to be in, no matter how old, in any EU, geographical European, or Med shoreline country.

AA with home/recovery/onward (all part of ADAC), personal cover for two is... £165. For the UK only (they don't easily give their Euro prices). "Introductory price for the first year".
RAC is £160, plus an extra £105 for full year Euro, and has a maximum of £2500 payout, versus ADAC's cap at the market value.

The AA wanted £125 for five days cover for one drive of one car last time I tried.
ADAC cover me and Mrs CK, any vehicle, anywhere in Yerp, for a year.

You need "plus" for cover outside Germany. Basically, it's full roadside cover - as per AA/RAC - but across all EU/Geo Europe/Med shoreline countries. The thing they do different to AA/RAC etc is that instead of saying "Right, we'll take you straight home", they have a "budget" for each call-out. If you're within that radius of home, you get recovered. If not, your car gets taken to a localish garage, and you get hotel/hirecar etc money. If the car isn't fixed in three days, it goes home, as do you if you aren't already.

In the UK, you ring 'em (German number, but they'll call you straight back) and the AA rock up. Both times I've used 'em in the UK, it's been within 30-45 min.

You do need to phone 'em to take it out and renew, but all the German you really need is "Sprechen sie Englisch, bitte?". They'll at the very least come up with enough to say "No, but hold on - I will transfer you to my colleague"

Don't know what the actual budget for a call out is but here's is an example from one of my experiences.
I broke down is Toulouse France.
ADAC took all details to arrange shipping my car back to the UK.
They then advised me they would cover the hotel that night.
They also provided me with a free rental saying to stay on my travel schedule talking 4 more days up to Calais and there was another car waiting for me in Dover.

But what happens if you exceed that is my concern? Say I'm in Nice and break down there, a hire car for the rest of the week plus hotel is going to be more than €250 so am I then screwed at that point?

No, the €250 is for the immediate recovery. They pay for three nights hotel (max €100 or so per night) plus hire car and whatever else on top of that. If the car isn't fixable within three days, you get shipped home, and the car follows gently behind (with a repatriation cap of the vehicle's value).

I just tried this tonight explaining I was also with the arc and wanted to know how long they would be etc. he was confused so gave up.

Yes I did. You didn't address the question I asked and it read as if once you were outside of their 'budget' you were left to find your own way home which struck me as a bit unusual hence my post for clarification.

Is that ok?
