What to do with High end F1 Book?
Discussion
So last week I won a huge F1 book in a prize draw at work. By huge I mean a 50cm x 50cm, 852 page, 37kg monster detailing the history of Formula 1. A new one with Bernie Ecclestone's signature is selling at £2k and with F1 Champs Signatures at £20k so it's a little different to the usual 99p + 4.95 P&P stuff on ebay.
Oops. The photos here were screen grabbed from the publisher website. I'll replace them with my own photos tonight. Also, not my workplace unfortunately.
My OH is not too happy having it around the house due to the sheer size of it so I'm going to have to move it on.
Is this sort of thing going to go up in value or is it better to get rid of now? I imagine it might look good in a high end car dealership.
Is ebay the best place to advertise it? I thought about this place but having been here for years I've never looked at the miscellaneous classified section before today and there's nothing of interest going on there.
Are there any F1 memorabilia places I should look at?
Any suggestions?

yes, very cool workplace, right next to city hall
you could give a place like this a call and see if they would be interested in buying if off you.

Just because it is £2k on amazon though, does not mean it will ever sell and it looks like the publisher is selling it.
Donate it to the auction at Goodwood F of S - should get a few quid and make sure the money goes to charity and will make you feel good

Move the OH on.......Any suggestions?

How much space does one book take up ?

Two problems solved.......

Donate it to the Mechanics Trust:

And let them get the best price they can. They can probably get drivers to sign it as well, adding to its value and making more for the trust, who do great things.

It's a big book, but there must be somewhere you can store it out the way.
I'd consider trying to track down places where F1 associated people, drivers, team owners etc might be attending and try and get a few signatures in it. Or just one high profile signature.
Increase the value and move it on if desired. Win win if you got it for free in the first place.

What I would do is post up a thread on here describing what you have and how special it is etc etc and ask where you should sell it. Loads of collectors will then contact you and offer you big money for it. Simples.
Oh, hang on....
...and I would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky kids. Oh, hang on....

Is it that big? Looks about A5 dimensions if using this fella for scale is anything to go by:

Seriously before you move it on could you not review it on Amazon? Stands to reason something like this deserves at least one review.
